Last week, the Drakette and I took off for a well-deserved vacation. We spent the better part of the week in a condo on the beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama, and we had a GREAT time.
Since I believe in giving credit where credit is due, we made our arrangements through Brett/Robinson Realty and stayed at Island Winds East. We highly recommend apartment 806, a one-bedroom condo on the top floor with a balcony overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.
Breakfast on the balcony every morning:
We went to interesting nearby places, like the Pensacola Naval Air Station, home of the Blue Angels, where we toured their aviation museum:
And we toured the USS Alabama in Mobile Bay:
And boy! Did we eat! Here’s what’s left after the Drakette and I paid a visit to Steamers on 1st Avenue and destroyed about 10 pounds of steamed crabs, shrimp, Royal Reds, mussels, sausage, corn, and potatoes. Oh! And raw oysters.
So now, vacation is over, and it’s back to the real world. It was nice while it lasted. See ya on the radio!
