Check out the incredible trailer for the LONG in the works Queen movie, “Bohemian Rhapsody”

There is a lot of drama surrounding this movie which has been in the works for years. Some people are slamming it because the trailer appears to “ignore” Freddy Mercury’s sexuality. Well here is my sister’s take on the matter and I love how she put it:
“The damn movie itself has a whole story. Years ago, Sacha Baron Cohen was set to play him (he can sing) and Bryan Singer was set to direct (he did all the X men stuff and also The Usual Suspects) but in the #metoo drama, evidence turned up Bryan had more in common with Kevin Spacey than we’d like to know, and that’s just not a good thing. Meanwhile Cohen pulled out of the movie because he didn’t like that the movie was going in a more family/ clean direction. Some guys in Queen are producing the movie,  and they want to protect Mercury’s legacy and not make it out to be gritty. He was a very private person and even his band mates didn’t know about his AIDS diagnoses until shortly before he died. This is not a spoiler- I just read it- but the movie won’t cover his illness. It’s just about him and Queen. I love it so much that his band mates went so far out of their way, haunting the production for years, to make sure they didn’t make a gritty movie about him, and from the preview, they seem to have nailed it.”
Official synopsis:
Bohemian Rhapsody is a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury, who defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet. The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound, their near-implosion as Mercury’s lifestyle spirals out of control, and their triumphant reunion on the eve of Live Aid, where Mercury, facing a life-threatening illness, leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music.
Set for release November 2nd.
