Here’s a small inspiring sample of one of the many ways you can become a volunteer with BREC.

I had the pleasure of attending one of the awesome activities BREC puts together, that is a most rewarding way you can volunteer with BREC. Through a partnership with Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge, BREC hosts themed monthly socials for adults with cognitive and developmental disabilities and their friends and family. They are held every third Friday at the Milton J. Womack Park at 6201 Florida Blvd from 6pm-9pm.

You can check out the photo gallery from the social I attended on November 16th with a sock hop theme! The attendees had so much fun, and the volunteers serving food were all smiles!

I also interviewed Molly Orr, Adaptive Recreation Manager for BREC, to tell us all about the Sunshine Socials. You can listen below.
