It means In Search of Lost Time. It’s a 7-volume novel published in 1913 and written by Marcel Proust. Tonight, while falling down a YouTube rabbit hole, I found my past.
You see, every afternoon, from 1955 to 1959, I would sit in front of the television and watch the Mickey Mouse Club. From the Mouseketeer Roll Call at the start of the show to the bittersweet closing theme song, I would watch as these children put on a show for me. Every day there was a newsreel and a cartoon and a serial and music and fun.
I could go on and on about watching episodes of “Spin and Marty” and “The Hardy Boys,” or I could probably make a case for Mouseketeer Cubby O’Brien being my earliest influence into the world of drums, or discovering my first love, Annette Funicello; but I digress.
