It’s really true: sometimes it’s the simple things in life that are the best. Oh, don’t get me wrong; it’s great to be able to live in a big house or drive a new car or wear an expensive watch or throw a huge party.
But since I’m not a man of means, I have to settle for other, more simple pleasures. Like being remembered by name at the dentist’s office. Or re-plumbing all the pipes under the kitchen sink with no leaks. Or mowing straight lines in the back yard.
Last night I had the opportunity to enjoy one of my all-time favorites: new windshield wipers! The old ones were squeaky and streaky and just plain awful. The new ones are quiet, and they wipe clean. Ahhhh!
Plus, it’s just about the only repair I know how to make on my car all by myself.
