Southern Salutes Rock for Wednesday, June 12th!

Michelle Southern: Weekdays 2pm-7pm

By Michelle Southern

Saluting rock in an entirely *new* way today, quite literally. Today is Kenny Wayne Shepherd’s 42nd birthday, and being the boy from Shreveport, Louisiana who blessed us all with the unforgettable “Blue on Black” in 1995 featuring Noah Hunt on vocals, I thought it would be appropriate to salute one of KWS’s new projects.

Enjoy this recently released version of Blue on Black by Five Finger Death Punch, still with Kenny on guitar…but this time with the help of Brian May of Queen and country singer Brantley Gilbert.

And one of the best parts about this song is that the proceeds from its collaboration are being donated to the Gary Sinise Foundation in support of first responders. Check out the video below >>
