Cakes & pies, green beans, canned sweet potatoes, hams, turkey, cinnamon, white and brown sugar. The following urgent food/supply items are needed at the St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room: sugar, dry beans, and spaghetti, as well as the following canned goods: black eyed peas, chicken broth, tomato paste, fruit and tomato sauce. Also, disposable salt & pepper shakers, vanilla flavoring/extract, 12 oz. disposable cups, brown sugar, corn meal, garlic powder, paper napkins, plastic forks, dehydrated onions, Kitchen Bouquet, parsley flakes, paper towels, heavy duty foil, pot holders, bleach, and all purpose cleansers such as 409, Mean Green and Awesome.
Needs for homeless men, women and children at the shelter and housing programs of St. Vincent de Paul:
soap and shampoo; deodorant; sheets (twin & crib size); blankets; umbrellas and rain gear; pillow cases; pillows; disposable diapers; baby wipes; towels; washcloths; men’s, women’s and children’s underwear; baby lotion; baby shampoo; baby powder; napkins; disposable cups, plates & bowls; plastic forks, spoons, knives; paper towels; sandwich bags; laundry detergent; socks; bleach; toilet paper; drink mix (tea, lemonade, etc.); disposable razors; toothpaste; toothbrushes; foot powder; feminine hygiene products; body lotion and body powder.
Over the Counter Medicines needed at St. Vincent de Paul Community Pharmacy: Advil, Motrin 200 mg, Aleve, Claritin, Multi-Vitamins, Vitamin C, Robitussin, Robitussin-PM, sugar free cough syrups and drops, cold medicine for high blood pressure, Benadryl, rubbing alcohol, Neosporin, Ensure, Ducatrol, Maalox, Mylanta, Tums, low dose Aspirin, Rolaids, Gas-X, Emetrol, Tylenol Extra Strength, Pepcid A-C and Zantac. Generic versions of these items are acceptable.
Ø The St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room is our community’s safety net. This year we are on pace to serve over 200,000 meals.
Ø The Bishop Ott Shelter Program serves homeless men, women and families with children by providing over 20,000 guest nights of shelter annually with a philosophy of giving a hand-up, not a hand-out.
Ø The St. Vincent de Paul Community Pharmacy is our community’s “Prescription Bank” filling over $1 million worth of life-sustaining medications for those in need.
Ø The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is able to provide all services because of the generosity of our community – both financially, as well as the donation of the above items.
