Ochsner Announces COVID Vaccination Events,
Free Cancer Screening the Week of June 21
BATON ROUGE – Ochsner Baton Rouge will offer several COVID-19 vaccination events the week of June 21 around the Baton Rouge area. Most events offer the two-dose Pfizer vaccine. The single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine is available at Ochsner Baton Rouge Vaccine Clinic on Wednesday, June 23.
In addition, patients who receive the Pfizer vaccine at Ochsner Baton Rouge Vaccine Clinic on Friday, June 25 can receive a free skin cancer screening. The screenings are optional and completely free. So far, doctors have performed over 50 screenings at the clinic, and three cases of skin cancer have been identified.
Vaccine appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are accommodated as supplies allow. To make an appointment, call (844) 888-2772, or visit MyOchsner.org. Vaccination sites are open to anyone regardless of their patient status at Ochsner.
The Pfizer vaccine is available to anyone age 12 or older, with parental consent for minors, while the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are available to anyone age 18 or older.
Recipients are encouraged to register for Shot at a Million, the state’s new rewards program for those who receive COVID vaccines. Offered by the Louisiana Department of Health’s “Bring Back Louisiana” campaign, registration and program details are available at shotatamillion.com/register.
